HTC Regional Club Championship Selection Process – West Coast
HTC is proud to announce we will be selecting our RCC teams to train and compete this Spring/Summer. We will be selecting a U14, U16 and U19 RCC Team.
The Regional Club Championship tournaments for our Region 11 will be:
U14 RCC – DATE AND LOCATION TBD
U16 RCC – June 4-5, 2022 – Chula Vista, CA – Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center
U19 RCC – June 4-5, 2022 – Chula Vista, CA – Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center
What is the Regional Cup Championship?
This is the major tournament that we will attend as a club. We will be competing against other club teams from Region 11. The winning team for each age group will move on to the National Club Championships.
National Club Championships – Virginia Beach, VA – Virginia Beach Regional Training Center
U14 NCC – July 7-9
U16 NCC – July 9-11
U19 NCC – July 12-14
This is one of the tournaments that we have tryouts for and our coaching staff will select the teams via these two options. There are two tryout dates. You must attend one in order to be considered for the team. It is highly recommended that you attend both dates.

All interested players must register for this tryout. If a player cannot make the actual try-out date, please email Mika and let her know ASAP. Again, all players must register for the tryout in order to be considered.
All HTC players are eligible to be considered for one of our RCC teams!
This Spring our RCC Training Squads will have 2-4 practices per week at various. training locations in San Diego County. This competitive program is designed to further develop and challenge each athlete and gain valuable 11v11 game experience.
We will select up to 24 players per age group for our RCC Training Squads. We expect the athletes selected to attend all training and events.
Our RCC Teams will be announced Thursday, March 17 in the evening by 8 PM. For the players that are selected, we will forward the specific training practice schedule and next registration steps. For those players that are not selected this time around, they will be invited to join our club program where we can also further support your hockey development.
What will the schedule be if I make the RCC Training Team?
Our training squads will attend 2-4 practices per week. There will be practices, tournaments and events for our teams to prepare for the RCC Tourney that we expect you to attend. Once you are selected for the RCC Squads, we will forward you your training schedule and next step registrations. Training sites will be at San Dieguito Academy, Torrey Pines High School and the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center. The training calendar works with participation in the USAFH NEXUS program.
Important Reminders!
- Age requirements for the RCC Teams are determined by a players age on January 1, 2022.
- Everyone must have USFHA membership that is current through September 1, 2022 and you must select HTC-CA as your affiliated club.
- Deadline to Register for the RCC Tryouts and to be considered for one of our RCC teams is Sunday March 13, 2022.
We are very excited to offer our Regional Club Championship Program this Spring. We anticipate a very competitive spring season and look forward to our teams competing for a qualification to the National Club Championships in July!
