HTC Regional Club Championship Team Selection Process – 2021 East Coast

HTC Regional Club Championship Selection Process – East Coast

HTC is proud to announce we will be selecting our RCC teams to train and compete this spring. We will be selecting a U14, U16 and U19 RCC Team.

What is the Regional Cup Championship?

This is the major tournament that we will attend as a club. We will be competing against other Northeast club teams. The winning team for each age group will move on to the National Club Championships later on in the summer.

This is the only tournament that we have try outs for and our coaching staff will select the teams one of three options.

1. Players that attend our try out dates in North Branford, March 27-28.

2. Players will be evaluated at the Shooting Star Easter Tournament.

3. Players that attend private schools or cannot leave their covid bubble – For these situations, our coaches will make the selection from previous practices and tournaments.

All HTC players are eligible to be considered for one of our RCC teams!

This Spring our RCC Training Squads will have 2 intense practices per week. This program is designed to work on individual skill development, small game concepts, improve player’s game knowledge, and gain valuable 11v11 game experience.

We will select 20-25 players per age group for our RCC Training Teams. We will evaluate each player during the spring at practices and at tournaments. We will then select the final teams as we get closer to the RCC tournament.

Here are the steps for players to take to be considered for one of our RCC  teams;

All interested players must register for the RCC try-out, March 27-28, 2021. This includes players that can attend the try-out, players that are attending the Shooting Star Showcase, and Prep School players that cannot leave campus.

ALL interested players to be selected for one of our RCC teams, must register for the March 27-28 Try-Outs!

We will have 2 try out dates. We highly recommend players attend both try outs so that our coaches can evaluate your play.

If you are a player at a Prep School now and cannot make the March try outs, we are asking you to register for the try out anyway to express your interest in being selected to one of our RCC Teams. For these players, we will use our past evaluations of your play to make the RCC selections.

HTC Regional Club Championship Team Selection Process – West Coast

All HTC Events are on Hold because of the Coronavirus. As soon as we are cleared to begin our season, we communicate the revised dates to everyone. Stay safe and we will see you all soon on the field! Cheers!

HTC Regional Club Championship Selection Procedure – West Coast

HTC is proud to announce we will be entering teams in the USFHA Regional Club Championship Tournaments. We will be taking U14, U16 and U19 Teams to the Region 11 California Region for our West Coast players.

All HTC players are eligible to be considered for one of our RCC teams!

This is the one tournament of the year that we have to select and cut players for our teams.
Each RCC team will have a max of 20 players and 4 alternates named.
There will be many players wanting to make each of our RCC teams. So with this very difficult decision for our coaches, it is imperative that all families understand the commitment that will be required if a player is selected. Each player will be required to participate in a training schedule to prepare our teams for the RCC tournaments. We ask that players selected try to make each and every event on the team’s training schedule. There will be a fee to participate in the RCC tournament. This fee will be between $1000-$1500, which will cover the training sessions and the RCC tournament. HTC will work with families that need a payment plan in order to cover this fee. After discussing and agreeing to these parameters with your family, players can register for the evaluation sessions to be considered for selection to our RCC Teams!

Here are the steps for players to take to be considered for one of our RCC teams:

  1. All interested players need to register to be considered for the RCC team and pay a $20 evaluation fee. The evaluation dates and locations are listed below.
  2. After players register to be considered, they should attend the practice sessions listed below to be evaluated. We want to make sure everyone knows that these dates are NOT required, but will help our coaches see you play so they can select the teams. We are requiring all players being considered for the RCC teams to pay the $20 fee, regardless if they can attend all sessions.
  3. Teams will be announced on March 21, 2020. For the players that are selected to the teams, we will forward the specific training practice schedule.
  4. Evaluation dates will be:
Saturday, March 7, 2020 Torrey Pines High School 11:00a-1:00p
Saturday, March 14, 2020 Torrey Pines High School 11:00a-1:00p
Saturday, March 21, 2020 Torrey Pines High School Time TBD

Here is more information about the Regional Club Championship Tournament, which is an USFHA Event.

Only the top sixteen U-14, U-16 and U-19 teams from the Regional Club Championships will earn a ticket to the National Club Championship in 2020. One club team in each division will claim the highly coveted title of National Club Champion.
